An update on syndicating printing across the web

This being Web 2.0 week, and Web 2.0 being largely about APIs and the remixing of web applications, we figured it was time to give an update on the progress we are making bringing print into 2.0.

On the TPT: Remember TPT? The idea was to provide a combination web service plus Javascript library that allowed website owners to make high quality printable versions of their pages without having to touch their CMS or the formatting of their HTML. We took this approach because the print media specification (Print CSS) isn’t supported well across the browsers, and because we wanted to give the end user the ability to choose from various different layouts at print-time. Internally, we referred to it as the reinvention of the print-friendly button.
